How much progress in 20 years??

What don imus said was wrong but we have to be careful not to take things like this too far!!! We have set the civil rights movement back 2 decades because of this so called outrage over the imus comments. We shouldn't allow ourselves to be destroyed by WORDS!! I agree that there is a time and a place for when it is acceptable and that from where imus was sitting it was NOT the right time or place. But everyone also should know that if you are going to watch imus, you are guaranteed to be offended. If you don't like it, switch the channel! If we don't, and we get the government involved, it will bite us in the ass in the end! No pun intended :).

Welcome To Free Speech!

Welcome to Free Speech!

This week we have seen a very dangerous beginning. The beginning of the end of Free Speech.

Don Imus was just fired by MSNBC & CBS for accidentally saying something we all agree shouldn't have been said.

But ask yourself this. Should we really start curtailing speech? Should just because someone is offended allow them to say what we can and can't say??

Well then tell me why none of the Rap Stars that say far more vile things not have Sharpton campaigning against them the way he has just done to Imus?? Sharpton doesn't have such a racially clean past himself and these things cannot be denied. Jesse Jackson is in the same boat on this as he has made many racial remarks himself but not been punished for it.

Jesse Jackson is even friends with very popular black comedians that have incorporated into their acts many racially slurred material. Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy are just two that both Jackson and Sharpton have been friends with.

Personally I think the apology and soon to come personal apologies from Imus should have been enough. Believe me that with this box being flung open there will be MANY eyes on people like Sharpton and Jackson to see what they say in the future and it will be targeted for the way they have targeted this issue.

Please use this Blog to express your opinions and observations on the hypocracy we have happening every day lately.
